The 'revolution' in question is that of the United States' struggle for independence, which took place roughly from 1775 through 1783. Borne out of a heady and intoxicating swirl of ideas about self-government and individual liberties, the Revolutionary War advanced on the shoulders of men and women who built a radically new future for themselves - and a country unlike any in the history of the world. This 13-episode documentary miniseries touches on all of the major events of the said struggle, from the Battle of Yorktown through the drafting of the Declaration of Independence; throughout, it features carefully-staged dramatic reenactments, objective biographical profiles of Revolutionary War architects, and much more - all laced with detailed historical and sociopolitical analysis.
