  • A Rare Bird!!

Pre-Hays code movie. This movie had the book down fairly well. It was in glorious black and white. The actors were spot on. This movie was very enjoyable. It compared very well with the 1941 Humphrey Bogart Mary Astor version. Everything was superb. Thank you.

  • The first version, and not too shoddy!

This was the 1931 version of the 1941 classic. No, it doesn't compare to the style and noir feeling in the 1941 version, but the acting is pretty good and it's very interesting to see the changes between the two versions. If you're an old film buff, you'll enjoy this for what it was.
