With all the DNA of early Queen, Slade, Sweet and Cheap Trick… wrapped in the Swagger of Mick Jagger and Tina Turner ...and a refreshingly modern dash of My Chemical Romance… this album ROCKS! Its chock full of danceable, singalong, 3 minute pop-rock songs. Just buy it and don't look back. And if anyone asks "What? You like The Struts?" just say "Hell Yeah, I like The Struts. The Struts.
I don't know much about this band. To me they are a new sound. Joe Elliot of Def Leppard fame has only praise for them, and since I've been learning some D.L. songs on my electric guitar, and have bonded with D.L. a bit more because of it - I took his advise and bought this CD. The lead singer of this band looks/act/moves/Sounds much like the late great Freddy Mercury of Queen. I think there's even a little hidden reference to "The news of the world" or something like that - I don't know..., but Really - they should've asked him for the role of the latest Queen movie. Big Disappointment - Dumb Pop/Rock
If you like simplistic pop music with hooks - you may like this. I read comparisons to Queen. The singer is slightly influenced by Freddie Mercury - but doesn't have his range or the diversity of Mercury's voice or song writing. All the music suffer from a degree of sameness. The guitarist is barely functional - no breathtaking solos - just commonplace riffs. The lyrics are not very witty or thoughtful. This is disposable pop music.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
