About this product

Product Information

Enemy airships firing laser bolts are approaching your command base, and it is your job to blow them out of the sky. Using the paddle controller, you guide a five ship squadron positioned in the bottom center of the screen. When you push the fire button, you release one missile salvo for each ship in your squadron. When you have destroyed ten enemies and have at least one ship left, you can replenish your squadron by letting new ships that float down from the top of the screen dock into fighting formation.

You begin Tac-Scan with no ships in reserve. For every ten enemies you destroy, you get a reserve ship. If you let one of your reserve ships float past the docking point, you begin the next round of play but don't lose that ship. The game is over when you lose all five on-screen ships, whether or not you have any in reserve. You get bonus points for hitting shimmering enemy ships and for destroying three or four enemies with one salvo.
