    Best popcorn ever!

I've had one for years. Pop w/o oil, pour in bowl, add melted butter for easy cleanup. Simply wipe out with a rag b/c there's no oil! Nearly every kernel pops, and without scorching. I've tried various popcorn brands but always come back to Orville's own brand - larger, fluffier kernels.

    Disappointed

This popper requires a paper "Power Cup", a microwave concentrator. I was a little hesitant to purchase this product due to the need to replace the Power Cup often. Online indication was that the expected life of the Power Cup was 8 to 12 batches before replacement was necessary. The first one lasted two batches and I chucked this up to trying to add butter to the second batch. Cleaned the popper, inserted a new Power Cup which lasted three batched before totally falling apart. I believe the problem is the length of time I allowed to pop most of the corn. I have popped three batches using the third Power Cup and tried to stop popping earlier. The Power Cup is now brown and showing signs of failure. I purchased this item based on the manufacture's reputation of their prior products I have used.

  • Time will tell.....

Ordered this to use at home and was going to take our old one to condo out of state. However, the new one is made from plastic and is much lighter than our old one. Manufacture location DOES make a difference. I old popper was a first edition model and made in the USA. The new one is made in China. As for functionality, they both perform the same. The popping times were similar and the end product was very good. My only concern is the longevity of the new unit; therefore it is going to our condo and the old one will stay home as it gets used one to two times a week.

  • So simple, so easy.

It is so much easier than a hot air popper. So easy to clean, just wipe with a damp cloth and change the paper disks every 4 or so use. I absolutely love it. I put my popcorn into a bowl, I do not want to get the Presto popper greasy, I spray my freshly made popcorn with Crisco's butter flavor and use popcorn salt.

  • Love the Use of Our Popper

We like our popper! Do not like the lil disk, however since it pops all kernals and is reusable ok. Do not not like the bulky size of the bowl, due to the fact its not easy to store in cabinet. Perhaps square would have been better. Over all we love our popper and use it at least once a week!!

  • Just the best! Quick, Easy, Big Bowl Very Few Unpopped Kernels.

It is simply the best, quickest, easiest, and Safest popper! Electric ones generally don't have safety features or "off switches" & many complain of burnouts or electric fires - eeek !! The Presto Popper bowl is safe to grab by its cool handles right out of the microwave. The bowl, full of nice Hot popcorn, is stiff, no need for potholders, and it's not hot, soft and floppy. You could just serve it right in its bowl, right to the table. The clear lid will not burn fingers either. Their "concentrator" paper insert really makes the difference & it stays put in the bottom of the bowl. Essentially, it just does it BEST, and Easiest.

  • I love it,

I had an identical one for over 20 years until it finally wore out. It’s great because you can make popcorn easily with or without oil or butter and it’s all good. I’m so glad I could find one after all these years.

  • Presto PowerPop/Redenbacher Popcorn Popper is excellent.

This is the best microwave popcorn popper ever invented. I like popcorn cooked in olive oil, salt and honey. Simply melt, add kernels, and pop. Comes out well mixed and evenly coated. My only alternative to my favorite is range top popping or some hard to clean/inconvenient to use alternative. Sad thing they are no longer in production but I am pleased that replacements are available on such platforms as Ebay. Get one.

  • Bought these popper things for a friend and he loved them.

I actually bought a first generation popper on eBay because I heard the reissued product wasn't as good as the original. It cost more than new, but my friend was thrilled, and I was able to pick up the little disks to go with it at low cost. The disks are definitely worth it. With the disks, every single kernel pops. Without them, the popper still works, but you get unpopped kernels, same as any other microwave popper. Some people say it's fluffier with the disks but I'm not a popcorn expert.

  • Outlasted 4 microwaves over 20 years: Reliably works time after time!!

We bought our first one of these over 20 years ago and loved it until we used it so much the material below the concentrator started to crack. This popcorn maker actually works, over and over, reliably. We've had perhaps 4 or 5 microwaves in 20 years and this popcorn maker outlasted them all, cooking best on high for 1 minute 50 seconds. Highest recommendation possible for this popcorn maker. Enjoy!!
