Notes
Dan Reynolds has been playing and performing acoustic music for a long time, but he's been around Bois Blanc Island, Michigan - a.k.a. 'Bob-Lo' - a lot longer than that. After spending years playing the usual cover songs in bars and clubs, Dan began performing at the Bob-Lo Tavern, a place he had been visiting since his parents first brought him there as a child in 1973. The performances were just for fun, but before long, Islanders and tourists began to take note. His yearly performances at the Tavern became a popular annual ritual on Bois Blanc, and soon Dan would host musical nights with several Island performers joining in. He began calling them 'Island Jams' and the party was on. Of course, there were also intimate nights when it was just Dan, his guitar and a handful of regulars... and those became some of his most memorable nights. One night, while playing John Denver's 'Country Roads,' Dan became intrigued as the entire bar began singing along and changed the words 'West Virginia' to 'Bob-Lo Island.' He thought perhaps it was time to pay tribute to Bois Blanc with some original songs the Islanders could call their own. During the winter of 2009, Dan began writing songs for an album to be dedicated to Bois Blanc. By summer 2010, he had managed to record 10 original Island songs, and he titled that album 'This Ain't the Mainland,' a nod to the quirky Island life in Northern Michigan. It was released in September, 2010 to the largest crowd the Bob-Lo Tavern had seen in years, possibly ever. Despite the Island's relatively small audience and circle of interest, Dan wanted the music to be professional quality, so it could stand up to any indie release out there. He also wanted it to make use of Island talent, so he wrote a song that enlisted Island bagpiper Jeff Duncan to play the pipes for the album's heart-wrenching, closing musical riff. He invited Island photographer Pete Shannon to take the photos used in the album artwork. And he crafted each of the songs around different facets of Bois Blanc, so both the visitors and the residents would know it was all meant just for them. Dan then called upon nationally-renowned multi-instrumentalist and producer David Mosher to record, produce and perform on the album. He also added Peter 'Madcat' Ruth on harmonica and several talented harmony vocalists, and the rest is history. The songs have been played on local radio and in the Island jukebox since the album's release. Dan has occasionally been referred to as the 'Jimmy Buffett of the North,' because he has found his home and his beloved Northern Michigan audience, and he doesn't care who else hears this stuff. Soon after 'This Ain't the Mainland' was released, friends and fans began asking when the next Island album would be coming out. Dan hadn't planned to do any more Island albums, but by the end of 2011, he had written a handful of new songs that were being requested at each performance. Those songs included 'Bob-Lo Style,' a foot-stomping square dance romp that was inspired by the traditional Bob-Lo square dance of the same name. 'Bob-Lo Style' became the title track, and soon Dan had written more than a dozen new songs to round out yet another album. The 'Bob-Lo Style' album was more than 18 months in the making. Dan once again enlisted David Mosher as his performing partner and also to manage the production, recording and mixing. Peter 'Madcat' Ruth made a return visit with his internationally-renowned harmonica talents. And this time, Dan added a drummer, Will Osler, for the songs that needed a strong, driving rhythm. Despite the extra production, Dan kept the songs down-to-earth, and close to Bois Blanc Island. Dan called upon his friends Theresa Smith, Katie Geddes and Jan Sullins for the songs that needed a big vocal presence. Several of those songs also feature the voice of another good friend, guest singer Robin McNamara, who was best known for his Billboard #11 hit 'Lay A Little Lovin' On Me' in 1970, an

Great seller. I had a concern that the item wasn't moving because of the package tracking, which of course the seller had no control of. When I contacted them, they were very nice and responsive to my concerns. And the item arrived as promised, well packaged and in good shape. They also included a nice little surprise. So, highly rated seller. I would definitely work with again. Thanks.
