Condition:
This camera has signs of cosmetic wear on the body and every once in a while has a problem with the shutter curtain (ex. pictured in last two images). Probably happens about 3-5x per 36exp. roll. If you're able to fix it, or don't mind the occasional unusable image, this camera is in great vintage condition otherwise. Light meter, lens, winder, controls all work as they should.

Canon A-1 is a solid camera that takes great pictures and won't break the bank.
The Canon A-1 is the lesser known / more professional grade version of the AE-1 / AE-1P. It's more fully featured because it can shoot in Program AE, Shutter Priority AE, Aperture Priority AE, and Full Manual. The Canon A-1 is the first commercially available camera to offer all 4 of these now ubiquitous shooting modes (PASM) on one camera body. The build quality is on this camera is excellent, it has a nice weight to it and feels solid. The huge variety of FD lenses you can get for the A-1 also makes it a great value. Fast 50 primes at f1.4 are widely available for virtually no cost and there are plenty of other prime and zoom lenses available to meet any need all at reasonable prices. If you're looking to get back into film and want a solid camera that can take great pictures that won't break the bank the Canon A-1 is a great choice.
