Affordable Power for Sub woofer projects or a great replacement amp
I referenced many reviews about this amplifier before I pulled the trigger to buy. I now agree with the majority of reviews that commented about this being more powerful than the stated wattage. This has a Peak far higher than expected for the price and stated info. Rather than my feelings about this, I will just tell you what it does for me: *Adds tight, realistic Bass response to my AR18's connected to a Pioneer SX 312R with CD and laptop input. *Fills a 12' x 12' room with the right amount of Bass.....enough so that only 40% of the volume of the sub woofer is the maximum needed for most of the Music I play (Blues, Classic Rock, Funky Jazz/Blues, Acoustical Genres-various). * Needs to be powered on each use, but for this price I wasn't expecting many perks. HIGH PERFORMANCE AND QUALITY AT A VERY REASONABLE PRICE.
I have a home theater system that requires a powered sub. Since I had a 10" sub speaker in a nice cabinet, I purchased the Dayton amplifier to power it. The amp was packaged in a strong cardboard box with a form-fitting styrofoam insert. The amp itself was well constructed, and appeared to be a high quality device. I had made a cutout in the cabinet using the dimensions provided in the online users manual, so installation only took a number of minutes. The unit performs very well, and provides more bass than I expected from a 25W amp. The only drawback is the location of the power switch/volume control which is on the amp plate on the BACK of the speaker cabinet. I plan on relocating the switch to the front of the cabinet. In the meantime, I connected the power cord to one of the switched ... I have a home theater system that requires a powered sub. Good product and value for the money
I bought the Dayton Audio SA25 amplifier to convert an old passive subwoofer to an active one to use with my receiver. I was definitely pleased with the results, as I enjoy watching movies with the full surround sound effect. The only drawback is that the amplifier has to be manually turned on and off with each use. Other than that, it is a terrific product.
