This is an excellent flash for the price. I'm an amateur photographer and this was my first external flash; I didn't want to break the bank with a Canon flash and tried the Yongno. Overall I was pleasantly surprised with the performance and results using this flash. The E-TTL worked as expected on my old Canon Rebel XS DSLR with a variety of lenses. Pivoting of the flash head works well for bouncing off walls and ceilings. The flash recycles quick enough for me with good quality batteries. I would recommend this flash for the amateur photographer who wants to control their flash without breaking the bank with a canon flash. It is excellent performance for the price!

The pro: price, decent light. Used it only one evening (~100 shots) in an event. The quality of the photos with this flash is mostly good. It's pretty easy to take a good shot with it. The cons: The day after the flash died. It turnes on and the red light indicating flash ready. But when I take the shot the flash won't fire. making the photo dark. tried to change the battaries - didn't help. I guess you get what you pay for, next time i'll buy the original product

This flash is excelent, It respond very well in all their modes, the only problem i fonund, is when using ni-mh batteries, when whe batteries are almost dead, the flash start doing wrong things, like fire randomly and making strange noises with the zoom head, it should just turn off or inform about low batteries, but everything els is great. On full power the power distribution in time is far away from constant, but in 1/4 and less is perfect. I bought this product to use in social photography, bouncing flash in ttl mode, it were great for small and large rooms. I didnt have any problem in slave mode neither.
I bought first, by having a good price , what I like best and high-speed sync , what I like least and lack of external power and the lack of a manual in Portuguese or espanhol.A color and slightly but incostante nothing disturbing , and well built , I'll buy two more , but it would be nice if he controlled the other flashes . Valhe every penny , very good for what you pay , recommend .I called a NikonD700 and it was very good , both on the machine in slave mode in I- TTL.Estou very happy .I want to call two more in slave mode and try a more complex lighting , but lack of external .
It is an outstanding item performance wise and value wise. I have used it several times now and am very impressed with this flash. I use two of the YN 565 EX's and one 580 EXii. I can control all of the flashes from the camera menu and for me that is a must. I would recommend this flash to anyone that is wanting a quality flash for the money. It feels the same as the 580EXii looks like it in many ways. The controls are different but easy to use. I would buy it again if the need arises again.
