If the thought of lugging around a really heavy, clunky, metal camera that uses equally oversized optics turns you off, then the Pentax 67 system is NOT for you. This thing is a beast in every regard. It's huge, heavy, loud and a BLAST to shoot!!! It's hard not to get attention when the gigantic shutter fires. Image quality is impressive as well. The ONLY thing I have a problem with is the film loading can be a bit awkward at times. I really miss having a removable film back like the RZ67 and Hassy, but nothing's perfect. It would also be nice to have a bit more latitude with flash sync speed, but I think most modern photographers are shooting available light with these now anyway.

Initially, did not intend to buy this Pentax 67 camera because I already have a Mamiya 645, Hasselblad H system (never tried it yet), and a vintage Kodak Medalist (? never tried it yet, at 6x9 format). The existing three medium format cameras plus school's gears could accommodate my school needs. Upgraded my digital camera from existing Nikon D5000 to Pentax 645Z recently. I would need a whole new set of lenses for Pentax 645Z so I thought of alternative, less expensive lenses. This Pentax 67 became the best alternative for lenses to be used with Pentax 645Z. Surprisingly, love this Pentax 67 gears. Chose "67" version over "67II" because I do not want the LCD screen on "67II" and on any other cameras because LCD would easily get damaged and be out of order. I want my camera long lasting for the next couple of decades to complete my life span. Anyway, have processed a roll of film and the images appear very sharp even when sitting in the film sleeve. Format are quite big (6x7). Cannot wait to develop the images in hard copy or scan the film later. Love the camera. Would recommend to possess one medium format film camera when you can, because the analog cameras are getting fewer in number to be circulated in the market during digital era. Also, when we cannot afford a medium format digital camera, get a medium format analog camera instead, and scan the image digitally. The resolution will amaze you, compared it to that of the DX or FX digital image. Yes, Pentax 67 is large and heavy, really heavy. But, if you can carry a Hassy H, you can carry Pentax 67, too. Pentax 67 seems very well built like a tank. I would suggest getting a newer modal and version for the features and technology, whereas the pricing is very close.Read full review

Awesome Vintage Camera. It takes great pictures. Though heavy, it is portable, unlike most medium format camera. The build quality is impressive.

Big, heavy, noisy camera, but it’s the best their is when it comes to a portable MF film camera that excels at portrait work.
