Something a little different
I already had this on vinyl decades ago, had loads of British Rock'n'Roll and there are two stand out tracks on this CD I've never heard played at any rocking event. If I was DJing now I'd play Cuddley Duddley's 'Later' as a top jiver - especially the orchestral break in the middle, and Sharkey Todds 'Cool Ghoul' for atmosphere and just maybe as a stroller. I like CDs and do not think vinyl is always better but I have to say, in this case, the tracks seem just a touch underpowered - they are the original cuts so it is down to production quality. Other tracks are okay to complement the usual British rockers - but 'Later' and 'Cool Ghoul' alone make this worth buying and playing at events. Unmistakably British but also a cut above some of the more usual limp imitations of Bill Haley and ...
