I have taken it to a camera shop but no one works on them anymore and the batteries are not replaceable thru Batteries + because they discontinued them since 2015. It looked like it was in great condition and was. It didn't have the batteries or any parts but I had all of those because mine was stolen years ago. Now I want to transfer tapes but needed a camera to do that. This is the 2nd one I have bought but the 1st one was damaged. The only thing I see wrong with this is that the tape compartment will not open. I am getting an error message that it has moisture damage but I see none and have practically taken the whole thing apart.

Bought it to view old tapes. Came well packaged and all items shown were included. Was able to connect it to my VCR/DVD burner and copy home movies that had not been seen in years. Very happy with my purchase

I wanted to play some of my older videos. It is easy to use and it is complete with all I would ever need.

In the past seven or eight years, I've acquired and tested about 50 of this particular model to re-sell. It's not only one of the clearest recording models, but also one of the most reliable for watching and converting tapes. I consider the TR models from the mid to late '90's to be the best for this purpose. Even better than the Hi8/Video8 models that followed. It does not play Hi8 or Digital8 tapes.
