This lush adaptation of Homer's grand epic The Odyssey stars Kirk Douglas as the hero Ulysses. After victory in the Trojan War, Ulysses embarks on a ten-year journey back to his kingdom. But before he can reunite with his beloved wife (Silvana Mangano), he must defeat the brutal Cyclops, escape the spell of Circe who turns his crew into swine, and outwit the Sirens who lure sailors to their death.     Extremely Poor Production

    This movie held out great promise, given the actors involved, e.g., Kirk Douglas and Anthony Quinn. The movie failed on all levels. Poor script, over indulged acting, poor story line, which could have been so much better. Give this production a wide birth!!

    Ulysses DVD

    A good interpretation of Homer's story. Unusual part for Kirk Douglas to play as Ulysses. Not his best by far. The dubbing was poor but adequate. Special effects were good as was the photography. A fun film, which I enjoyed watching. The women were all gorgeous.

    Oldie but a goodie.

    Great classic movie ( they don't make them like this anymore, what a shame ). really enjoyed watching this movie again brought back many memories of movie nights of old with the family.
