I have many music books that are thin and soft-bound without spiral spines. This device allows one to keep these flat on a standard music stand. This works really well and replaces clothespins and other clips.

If the book has any kind of binder that has some inflexibility, this will not work. It's a great idea, but it didn't work for any of my music books.
