Reviews
"The group colors outside of well-established lines this time around, pounding on tribal drums during 'Gobbledigook,' smearing swaths of mellotron across 'Fljotavik' and 'Straumnes,' and pulling back on its patented reverb in favor of crisp, clean lines.", "They Deliver Plenty of Moments Where They Sound more Spirited, Looser, Almost Playful.", 4 stars out of 5 -- "There's still some beautifully glacial music....But now, occasionally, the Arctic exploration party becomes simply a party. The opening 'Gobbledigook' is almost acoustic happy hardcore...", Ranked #17 in Mojo's "The 50 Best Albums of 2008in- "Resonating with a Celestial Majesty.", "Their Signature Joyous Orchestrations and Epic Crescendos Are Still Intact...", 3.5 stars out of 5 -- "Swapping ethereal splendor for tighter songcraft....The group's dynamic new sound surges with rapid-fire la la las.", 4 stars out of 5 -- "They give each track its own distinct character. Thus we've two three-minute 'pop songs', acoustic folk, a soaring rock ballad and the tree-thumping Ewok-techno madness that is 'Gobbledegook'..."

This was a bit of a non event . Much prefer their Valtari which has a bit more gravitas and electronic.

  • An feast for the ears!

Sigur Rós' fifth album is the Icelandic band's most worldly, varied and — considering the usual ice-floe speed of their rock — impetuous. Með Suð is frontloaded with songs that get to the point fairly quickly – meter-hopping lead single “Gobbledigook,” and triumphal pop twins “Inní mér syngur vitleysingur” and “Við spilum endalaust” – but the destination is never much of a surprise. Leaden pacing wins out anyway: both the record’s nine-minute-plus centerpieces, “Festival” and “Ára bátur,” divide neatly between expendable first halves and gorgeous, revelatory conclusions. The lovely late-album interlude “Straumnes” is free of excess, of sagging momentum or leftover potential, but that’s because at two minutes it doesn’t have time to wander off in search of the grandiose. Can Sigur Rós do ...

  • No One Can Pronounce The Title But Its Still Great

Hello All. I have just got the new Sigur Ros Album and thought i'd give you my thoughts. To be honest with such a short period between this and the last album i though it may feel a bit rushed. It didnt though this album is excelent it is just as good as, if not better than the last album, I feel the drums in this album are better a bit edgier and alot more experimental and add so much to the way the album works from the begining to the end. This is a Cd that you must enjoy this year!! Will lift your mood and can be listened to at anytime, Just Dont try singing along!
