Good Screen Saver
The scenes are breathtaking. If you are close to the TV it looks like you are flying. The reason for the average score is the picture quality is rather grainy if you are up close. It's as if the camera is in low light and the electronics are trying to compensate. I have seen better clarity in OVER THE AIR HDVT shows. However it is very educational if you haven't seen these areas from a fly-by view. It makes an excellent screen saver. I let it play sometimes just to see a nice picture on the wall. The music is very mellow classic american songs that can put you to sleep easily. There is some narration when changing scenes.The scenes are breathtaking. Title Should Be Over Some Parts of America.
Overall it's a good body of work with great production quality. BUT....How did they manage to leave off the Entire Southeast other than Florida? Most of the Nations early history was in Virgina, the Carolina's and Georgia and also some of the most Beautiful cities and famous sites. I guess the people in Seattle, WA at KCTS Television need to do some more traveling next time. A good but VERY incompleate effort!Overall it's a good body of work with great production quality. Parts of the country anyway
This was my first Blu-Ray purchase after getting a 50" plasma TV and a Blu-Ray player. The aerial views are breathtaking and the Blu-Ray clarity and crispness are unbelievable! However I was disappointed by the incompleteness of the production. Being from the Southeast and now living in the Northwest I was disappointed by the fact that both regions of the country were completely left out. The title should be "Over SOME of America". In spite of the title description stating that this is a 2008 production, some of the shots are obviously more than 6-7 years old- the New York skyline was pre-911 and the WTC towers were standing tall in all their glory. Awsome High Definition
I originally saw this video in a department Store and just knew I had to get it. They did not have it for sale so I checked out Ebay and sure enough it was here. Thanks Ebay.If you like scenic displays in high definition then this is it. Just like riding in a low flying airplane in spectacular high definition.
