This camera takes great pictures. I am always impressed that I can take far away wildlife pictures and zoom them in (and crop them) later. My only two complaints are (1) it takes a long time for this camera to process the "just taken" picture and be ready to take the next one. I like to take wildlife pictures, and wildlife doesn't tend to stay in one place for very long...especially when a human is near. I've missed quite a few shots waiting for the camera to process the last shot. And (2), the video function is always trying to focus/refocus. Half of the video taken is blurry and/or out-of-focus because the auto-focus is trying to figure out what it is doing. I do not recommend this camera if you are more interested in video than still shots. Overall, I am very happy with this camera...it is my second one. I also have a Fuji camera with the same specs (10x zoom, 12 mega-pixels) that doesn't take nearly as nice pictures (better video , though).Read full review

Have carried Z950 camera for approximately 10 years. Dropped old one on cement on a recent trip and it broke. Even though sold as new, product is approximately 10 years old. Kodak USA stopped making this camera model around 2014-2016. Kodak went bankrupt and consumer product line sold to China. Product takes excellent pictures, but picture quality and features at approximate level of 2022 good or high end smartphone. For us, camera makes convenient and cheaper alternative to just using our smartphones. (Especially if dropped) Biggest difficulty is using camera in bright sunlight. LCD screen cannot be discerned very well.

I am finding that my Kodak Digital Cameras decisively fail at around 5 years. My Easeyshare Z730 had a big crack on the the display and the door latch and battery clip was not holding. On my wife's EasyShare Z730, her shutter button was unresponsive 60% of the time. Since I lost my aging EasyShare Z730 while in vacation and since my wife's camera is no longer usable in a practical way, I followed my philosophy of getting more camera than before and paying less than before. The Kodak EasyShare Z950 is at the end of it's marketing life and I purchased two of them, both of them Kodak Factory Refurbished and Factory Sealed, for a modest fee, per camera. The the charging connecting dock was OK for my wife and her first digital camera, the EasyShare Z730, but it is really not necessary since she never connects her camera to the computer, herself, (I do it for her) and she can plug her camera into the wall charger in the same location where she has kept her EasyShare Z730 charging dock. I prefer the longer battery life of a traditional viewfinder but cameras that come with one are old, used, and have been in the wild for some time. So my wife and I are going to rely on just the LCD display for the viewfinder since that is the only kind that ships new anymore. I checked the customer reviews on the EasyShare Z950 and it sounds like people are getting a couple of weeks out of one charge, just like we did with our EasyShare Z730s. The camera has image stabilization and has an ISO as high as 3200, as long as your image size is not bigger than 3.1 Mega-pixels. That is the image size my wife and I always use. I heard the $400 Canon Powershots are bulletproof and last forever but I was reading the customer reviews and apparently even the Canon point and shoot digital cameras only last around 5 years. So we are updated in our digital photography for another five years or so. I'm glad Kodak makes digital photography affordable, with brilliant Kodak color science built in.Read full review
Bought this for its 12Mp; 3" LCD that could be adjusted or darkened in bright daylight; 10X optical zoom that could be used while videoing; black color; in-camera charging; HD capability for direct connection to my home HD system; and panoramic picture-stitch capability. These make it stand out. Used it for a week now and so far so good. Pictures and video are really good and HD quality. Image stabilization, red eye reduction and date stamp options are good. The internal memory of 32mB is small for even one minute video and you must buy SD card. For HD video it is good to have 4 - 8GB of SD card since HD quality takes more space. Charging is fast - about 3 mins from low to full. The context help button is handy to briefly learn or get help on any displayed menu item. I wish it could record video in .mp4 which is more universal for emerging devices as against .mov (quicktime). This may not matter much since most HD systems do internal conversion, but would delay playback and may need more storage space. Though it allows zooming while videoing but the result is most times choppy and blurred - maybe that is why other non-professional cameras with sizeable optical zoom don't allow this. It is better to zoom in to target before videoing. It understandably weighs more than most point and shoot cameras but fits well inside my jacket pocket. It is pricey at big retailer prices of $250-$300 for casual user who wants just point and shoot, but good price for the choicy or advanced user. Any price less than $200 is a steal. Go for it. Compared to my old Kodak C813 it is pretty advanced. I give it a 9 out of 10 based on my technical needs now.Read full review
I bought this camera few weeks back. It takes great pictures even when there is low light conditions. HD video mode is also great. 10x optical zoom is very useful. Something I noticed is there is some noise when you shoot distant images. But better that my previous Polaroid 6MP. One thing I am concened about is the battery life. Original battery is 1030mAh and it drains out after few number of shots so Its better if you can have a extra battery. Overall great camera.
It is a compact camera with large zoom. I bought it because I needed more than the usual 3x zoom, but wanted a compact camera. This model has both, size and zoom. It is fast to load, has many options and picture modes, you can stitch pictures on camera for panoramas and can make small fixes.
I currently own a Sony Cybershot my second of the Sony line and had problems with the shutter speed, the pictures inside the camera were great but in my computer were a blur. My friend had an EasyShare and when we compaired the pictures her's were clearer and sharper. This Christmas my fiancee purchased the Z950 Easyshare for me and we took it to several Christmas functions. All came out perfect, clear, great color and we have made the pictures into 8x10's and 5x7's and still perfect quality!! Love my new camera everyone has made comments on the lovely pictures. My favorite part aside from the picture quality and sharpness is the fast shutter speed. This is perfect in getting those quick shots and sports shots at the rodeo!!
What is not to like? Kodak has done it again. This camera has all the features of the big boys but not the bulk or price tag. I did all the research I could do before getting this beauty. I love the large LCD and the fact that my big hands and my wifes little hands can both hold onto this camera comfortably and does not feel like you're gonna hurt it by using it. The speed of the camera is insane. I have not had a digital camera or film camera that was this fast ever. As soon as you touch the button, you've taken the photo. No more trying to time things just right to get the shots you want just shoot away. This camera also has the ability to handle a 32GB memory card. I have even effectively replaced my old Sony Handycam with this bad boy. What else can I say other than quit hunting around for the right camera, just hunt around to get the best price on the Kodak EASYSHARE Z950 12.2 Megapixel.Read full review
Something is wrong with this camera. I have bought this model several times over the years to use at work so I know the camera well and it is a great camera for the work I do as well as for every day use. The shutter is taking too long to clear between photos. I have tried switching batteries and SD cards between this camera and the other Z950 camera that I have and made sure that it is fully charged with no change in performance.

I bought this camera for my wife because it was well priced and she wanted a nice little camera. I was surprised at all the features it has. For a 12 megapixel point & shoot camera, it is really inexpensive and the pictures it takes are quit excellent. It stitches the panorama pictures together well, so well you can't tell they are 3 seperate pictures. I like the fact you can work with the shutter speed and aperture, cause it is helping her to learn more about them in case she ever wants to use my camera.
