Product Information

A pair of western-themed made-for-television movies comprise this unique two-pack. It begins with the 1995 BUFFALO GIRLS. As directed by Rod Hardy and adapted from the novel by Larry McMurtry, this epic-length picture dramatizes the life of Calamity Jane (Anjelica Huston), focusing most intently on her friendship with brothel madam (Dora DuFran), and her performances in the Wild West Show run by Buffalo Bill Cody (Peter Coyote). The movie co-stars Sam Elliott, Gabriel Byrne, Jack Palance, Liev Schrieber and Reba McEntire. The second opus in the set, the Hallmark Entertainment production TRUE WOMEN (1997), stars Dana Delany, Annabeth Girsh and Angelina Jolie in the real-life story of two sisters who defended their home on the Texas plains from attacks by Native Americans and Mexicans.

    Buffalo girls and True Women

    True women is awesome. Once you start watching, you're hooked. Buffalo girls isn't very good. Anjelica Huston is a wonderful actress but shouldn't have been cast as Annie Oakley. It was kind of hard to follow.
