Il n'a pas besoin d'une grande rigidité car ne sera jamais sollicité en ce sens et même pas au montage. Un modèle en alu moulé sera un plus lourd et un peu plus rigide, mais plus cher.... :-)

Mieux vaut léger que trop lourd car il est toujours possible de mettre des cales de poids ou de régler le bras; D'autre part les porte-cellules universels doivent convenir à la plupart des platines disque, et parfois celui qui est à remplacer est plus lourd, c'est un peu la loterie quand ce n'est pas l'original, car il est "passe-partout" :-)
