In the 1985 edition of "Movies on TV" by Steven H Scheuer, this film is rated 3+1/2 stars. In closing he states: "Some people hate this picture; others think its the funniest movie ever made. See what you think". I misunderstood it the first time (20+ yrs. ago)at a midnight showing on channel 5 in L.A. So I recorded it & viewed it several times since. It is hilarious. The script was written by Joseph L. Mankiewicz (All About Eve) & directed by Edward Cline (director of 3 top W.C. Fields films). The humor is tongue-in-cheek & subtle. In the A.F.I. feature films catalogue for 1931-40,it says the script was under glass in Expostion Park, Los Angeles & labelled: "this is a perfect script". (The story takes the cast of characters to the 1932 Olympics ). Perhaps the standout performance is that of Lyda Roberti as "the woman no man can resist". Sadly, she lived only 6 more years in film befor succumbing to a heart attack at age 32. In this film she is a burlesque Greta Garbo. See it for youself.Read full review
