    Nova 40 Headphones. Got these for an alternative headphone for Ham Radio

    Fro some reason I got the hankering for some retro headphones. I bought the Realistic NOVA 40's on ebay, They certainly are very well constructed. The sound lacks mid range as compared to the lighter weight SONY's that I have been using.The modern drivers are better, I have found out that for some HAM radio listening, these NOVA 40's are actually better than the SONY's. This is because some HAM radio stations have too much mid range and bass. These NOVA 40's have a flat approach to the sound reproduction. This is how I feel about the sound. Then sometimes I switch back to the SONY's. These retro headphones are kinda big. Heavier than modern headphones. Almost too big for my head but i like them. Once i get my earlobe tucked in, they are very quiet and reduce external noise quite well. ...
