This is an outstanding seller to deal with. Fair prices that are more than reasonable in this economy. The product is even better condition than described, a true value for my money. Packaged and shipped well shows seller has concern for the products he sells to arrive in excellent condition. The seller is friendly and communicates timely with his customers. All in all I highly recommend this seller and would do business again anytime. Thank you and be safe. Good luck to the future.

  • Helen of Troy

The face that launched a thousand ships acquires an engaging, intelligent and surprisingly guileless voice in George’s sweeping novel. Daughter of Leda and the god Zeus, her historical significance prophesized, Helen is sheltered as a child so as to cheat the Fates. It is not until she nears marriageable age that she is told the secret of her divine heritage and catches a first glimpse of her appearance. She marries young to feel less isolated, choosing Menelaus whom, she hopes, will be both a partner and friend. Instead, she finds only disappointment. Helen meets 15 year-old Paris when she is 24, and her dormant capacity for passion awakens into a defining revelation. Neither her position nor her husband and daughter can deter her from eloping and yielding to her destiny. ...

  • Looking for History, keep looking

Maybe I bought this book for the wrong reason. I was hoping for a history book, but got a slow historical novel written in the first person. I knew it was not for me when mid-way through the first CD, "Helen" starts remembering at length about the first time she heard her name. If you want history, stay away. If you want Jane Austen in the Ancient Med., you will probably love this book.

  • Helen the Most Beautiful Woman of the Ancient World

Great Great book. This is a beautifully written epic and I love long, long books on CD. Makes history come alive.
