I researched numerous bike bags. Hoping to find one that offered the following. High Quality, Ease of use, Expandability, Good price. I was hoping to find a bag that wouldn't look like I was traveling across the country, but I want to use it around town, to haul groceries every now and then. I'd seen multiple bags that offered the same features for much less money, but most appeared cheaply built and not as well designed. This bag has two drawbacks; it's not cheap, and you have to use a Topeak rack with it. Once you come to grips with the fact that there are no bags out there that are both inexpensive and not cheap, you will find this bag. I saved a large sum of money buying it on Ebay. I ended up buying the rack on Ama. The quick release feature is great if you would like to be able to remove the bag in a hurry. It it rigid and won't flop around when full. The expandable panniers are rigid and don't look like they will flop around like cheaper one's, yet they fold away into the side pockets very easily. The bag is not big, but does offer a major amount of expandability with the side panniers. The proprietary rack was about the same cost as most other racks I found, and offers a spring loaded lock down which is handy. Time will tell how the zippers hold up.Read full review

I'm really liking the panniers right now, but being extremely careful with the zippers as it's only a matter of time before those start to split. The jury is still out on how long these wimpy little zippers are going to last. I'm more of a backpack type than a pannier type anyway, but as panniers go, this really fits my commuting style. The sides hold my work clothes and shoes, and the middle compartment holds everything else from cell phone to my lunch and some toiletries. My only concern: the zippers do not seem very heavy duty for something that is outdoor sporting equipment like this, so I'm not sure how much weight I can put into the side bags. Knowing myself I'll push that to capacity. So far, this is a great pannier set that I'm really enjoying.

This bike bag is just awesome! Very flexible design from fully compact as a just a bag, to fully expanded paniers that can hold an entire shopping trip. Plus, the bag has a number of other features, such as a carry handle and detachable strap, and what appears to be truly great contruction. After several years with one on my own bike, my spouse wanted one too.

The quality of the bag is superb. The MTX quick Track system allows you to slide it and lock it seamlessly. The Panniers drop out of the zippered side compartments when needed and are put away quickly when not needed. Topeak obviously put a lot of thought into the design of this bag. It's quickly expandable with a pop-up feature that increases the size of the center compartment by about a third. It is a bit expensive and you need to use it with a Topeak Rack but is well worth the investment if you need storage space.

I just finished using this on my bike trip from DC to Pittsburgh, 335 miles. This bag is well constructed, built like a tank. Plenty of storage, I didn't even have to use the side panniers but I was still able to store stuff in the side pockets. I love the easy slide off/on and lock feature. I did have to use 2 hands to slide off because it was a little tight. I purchased the rain cover and a water bottle separately and recommend both.
