That didn’t make sense to me, I can only assume that it was due to the shipping method chosen, as I shouldn’t have to pay tariffs on Japan-US order values that low (de minimis rule is $800+). Seller was not helpful, poor communication and response time, even somewhat rude in tone… There are many better Japan seller services here on eBay
