    Great Book at a very high price.

    This is a great book and a compelling artis who shares his techniques. I am a visual person and therefore it is his paintings and his step-by-step techniques that impressed me the most, but his text instruction is beneficial especially for the intermediate level artist. One thing, I first bought Alla Prima and then because I loved it so much, I bought Alla Prima II. The second book is pretty much the first book with some more examples possibly 1/2 and 1/2. So, if you are wondering which to buy, purchase only Alla Prima II and you will get all of Alla Prima I. It is pricey and because I paint professionally it was worth it. I think it would be better priced in the $40-$50 range so if you can find a used copy at a good price, go for it.
