  • Marvel Fans Will Love...

First and foremost, people have to remember this is ULTIMATE Avengers....so what does that mean? It means it's based on the newer version of the Marvel characters. Now you're asking, so what does that mean? It means that the newer versions are slightly different from the originals in various ways. The most noticeable differences might be costumes, but THE most noticeable difference is the fact that Nick Fury is black. Some people seem to strike a negative to this movie based on that fact and that's just wrong. This movie is good for various reasons, such as the animation. It's a very well drawn feature length movie and it's definitely not a child's movie either. There is some violence involved, so it does appeal to the older fans of Marvel. I find that this movie tends to circulate around ...

  • Avengers a "Ultimate Hit"

In truth i did not expect alot with this DVD, but as a die hard Marvel Zombie i had to pick it up. I must say i was 100% wrong on this one. Ultimate Avengers is based on the Marvel Comics Series "The Ultimates". Written by Mark Millar and Bryan Hitch. It is based on the creations of Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. The dvd release for the most part stays true to the Comic series. The biggest differance is the mature themes being toned down from Its comic counterpart. An Example being the domestic violence of Henry Pym towards the Wasp. The DVD contains numerous extra features, including interviews with the comic book creators of the Ultimate Avengers comic book, exploration of the creation of the animated film, a video game and previews for the future film.

  • Good if you are a fan

I thought this movie was good and Should have been great. The animation and production value was fantastic. The art and music, with voice over and story quality were well worth it, and could have put this in a theatrical release. The story itself is mt regret. I am not into the whole "Ultimate" comic book line. It sells well so people do like it, but not me. I am a bit older and more interested in the original storyline of these characters. The original avengers were great with the original versions of the Hulk and Thor. The original hulk is a favorite of mine and I miss it. Anyway if you do like the rewrite, or re-imagining, whatever, this would be perfect for you.

  • Ultimate Avengers: The Movie - GREAT!

I got Ultimate Avengers The Movie and part 2 with Black Panther. I really liked this movie because it did a great job adapting the comic book into this movie format, not dead on but close enough that you won't mind. Some of it was exact and true to form. The animation was very good, the voice adaptations was nice - though it would have been cool for Samuel Jackson to have voiced Nick Fury's part but the voice overs are excellent. Great plot with Captain America being frozen; then thawed out years years later, so they can make more super soldiers from his blood; the world is in trouble and Captain America is called upon to Throw His Mighty Shield along with the other Avengers who join forces to save the world. Great plot, great movie - very enjoyable. I'm glad I have it in my collection.

  • Ultimate Avengers: The Movie

Loved the Steve Rogers/Captain America beginning. I am an Avengers fanatic, although unfamiliar with the Ultimates series. This was a good blend of the original Avengers from the 1960's, and I hope this only leads to more movies from this genre. I liked the original ex-WWII Nick Fury better than the one featured in this movie, though. The original was crass but real, upholding his beliefs in patriotism as a soldier from his war experiences. This Nick Fury is too much of a government agent, although not unlikeable.
