Current slide {CURRENT_SLIDE} of {TOTAL_SLIDES}- Best Selling in Alarm Clocks & Clock Radios
The am/fm radio is nicer than my WR-300 and I also like the am antenna terminals, but what really is nice are the instructions. There is 96 page book, a 3 page Quick Setup Guide, 1 page of Accessories, and finally an 11.5 by 26 inch flow chart detailing every aspect of setup. These radios are complicated even for techies, so this is a big plus to get all the bells & whistles. The radio features RBDS which displays info like song title, artist, etc. What is cool is the clock can be maintained to absolute accuracy by using that signal from the radio.

-The problem with this radio is that the sound almost sounds muffled...even after adjusting the primitive built in equalizer. The speaker is just not up to the task. For talk radio; it's a bust, for FM you won't notice since if your listening on this, your not really too picky, just looking for background. - The built in ferrite antenna is also not a standout. Reception is "Weak"; Sorry! Got to call it like it is. If you just listen to a few local stations, you'll be OK. - On the positive side; the NOAA weather was clear and seemed to pick up well. Being able to add county codes to the "S.A.M.E." list on the radio was easy. I just googled for the county codes around me...and then built a wall to get advance notice. Conclusion: I would not purchase this again, but since I have it, I guess I'll keep it. Since nearly all radio's, "trust me" out today are complete JUNK; at least this one would be closer to the top of the landfill.Read full review

This is an awesome weather radio, easy to set up.The best feature is the Weather Alert starts out soft and gets louder and doesn't startle the hell out of you. The only negative is the telescopic antenna will bring in the strongest Weather transmitter...bought an external antenna and the problem is solved. Also has jacks for external speaker and alert light. Best Weather radio in my shack! Performs just like any Sangean product....excellent!

This is a particularily nice radio. If the price of new is beyond your budget, there are many for sale in the used market. The only thing I didn't like about it is, you have to go into the menu and scroll down to access more than one of the public alert channels. It takes a few seconds more to do this. For the money, if you can disregard the display that only allows it to be veiwed laying down, you will find it is an amazing overall radio. Not just for public alerts, but for regular radio users!

I've had other weather radio but this one beats them all. The display is easy to see. The menus make sense and can be easily programmed without the manual. I had a Midland before and could never remember how to even set the time. The alarm options are very customizable. The sound quality on the radio is very good for a small radio. No other weather radio I've owned sounded this good. The only negative is that the weather alarm is a bit loud but it is an alarm after all.

I like this weather radio so much, I purchased two of them. I'm very pleased with the reception, sound and quality. It's compact and fits nicely where ever you put it. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a weather alert radio.

Loved the the look of it as soon as I unpacked it. Already had a user manual downloaded from product website. After set up I sat there like a kid waiting for Santa. No alerts. Major sigh.(No new is good news) Two days later at 5:45 AM, ALARM SIGNAL AND FLASHING RED LIGHT!(I had purchased the auxiliary beacon light) 10 seconds later a voice weather notification of severe thunderstorms in the Atlantic just off the coast. YAY! This bad boy really works. NOAA's website recommends a weather radio in every home. It may excessive, but I have to agree. There isn't a place in the U.S that doesn't have severe weather and any heads up could save lives. Lots of brands out there and I have experience with only one other (won't name), but based on my initial experience with this one, and the reviews from across the web, I think this one is a definite yes. But whatever brand, get a weather alert all hazards radio. ONE critical warning, in time, can save lives. And as added feature it has a very good AM/FM receiver with the ability to keep updated time from a time code in the broadcast. And it can run on batteries. This is a really good all round package.Read full review

Sound quality surprisingly good for only being powered by 4 AA batteries. Reception not all that great with built in antenna. Only a bit better with add-on antenna. (But that's probably because I'm using it in an aluminum postal vehicle.) The way you have to use the buttons for the weather stations is a bit weird and confusing. Would like more preset buttons.

Great sound. With ant-100 antenna you great reception. When you receive your radio there will be an order form in the box for the Ant-100 antenna. It will be cheaper than buying it somewhere else. Weather set up is simple, just takes a little time.

Works like a charm . I live in a remote area where You best one hardly work . Most of these use only antenna that is on device . This unit uses on board antenna, but also can be hooked to a outdoor antenna as well . I bought an all copper outdoor antenna from another supplier ,and now it works wonderful.
