Homebrew, swap regions, and now you have all you need. The quality is superb for a used product, there are surface scratches along the top and bottom of the shell and one tiny unnoticeable scratch on the lower screen, sings of use on the stick, nothing that impedes gameplay. If you want to play DS / GBA / Emulation games, I didn't find the filtering or 1:1 display either good or bad for the DS mode, both are okay. But maybe consider the XL if those are a must since 1:1 would be more useful. I enjoy the 3d mode too.

When I got the package I was a little suspicious because it looked small, I opened it to just find a cardboard sleeve, it had the 3ds (with a pen), a 2gb sd card and a charger, but it didn’t come with the charging cradle, AR cards or the paperwork, but it wasn’t anything to important. The 3ds itself works great and has very small scratches around the back, but nothing I can feel or see without a light there was also some other things around it but it was nothing I couldn’t just wipe off, also I love the 3d affect, it’s just something you gotta see to fully experience it TLDR very cheap, was missing some nonessential items, the 3ds itself is in good condition and working, had very fast shipping, overall would recommend

The 3DS is a bit gimmicky but after a year Nintendo has finally gotten some good games out for it. With titles such as Mario Kart 7, Kid Icarus Uprising, Super Mario 3D Land and Fire Emblem Awakening, there is now a baseline selection of interesting titles. There are some built in features like mini-games and wireless interaction but those are a bit lacking. The mini-games are great to introduce you to the system but you'll forget about them after a few weeks. Streetpass is a nice idea but unless you live in a city with a million plus people you'll have to be lucky to find someone to link with. This is not something that will bring in new gamers from other platforms but if you have played a NDS then you have a good idea on what the 3DS is about.
It got here looking almost brand new and charged. Very tiny little scratches that aren't really visible unless you turn the console in the light (exterior only). Very happy with purchase. Look forward to buying from seller again.

These systems are pretty cheap nowadays, but the game library is huge, and still expanding. The fact that it's region free means you can import games from other countries that are not available in the US. As well it can play your old Gameboy Advance games. Sadly it can't play Gameboy/Gameboy color games. Overall the whole system is solid, very sturdy, and offers loads of fun with a really long battery life, it's great for long distance trips and travel.
