I’m pleased with it, I think it’s a nice working width for the blades I have. At first I thought the grades were wrong as the 400grit plate "feels" and "sounds" really aggressive, and there "feels" and "sounds" like quite a bite from the 1000grit plate as well but in hindsight that’s probably just new plate. I do have a smaller 600grit plate which “sounds” and "feels" quite a bit finer that the 1000grit side. But that’s possibly because the 600 is a well used and bedded in plate, only time will tell. The plastic base can rock over a little as you get to the end of the stroke so I think the base could benefit from being about 1cm lower in height. Which I think would not be a great problem as the two grits look like they are separate plates glued onto a plastic base plate and in total are only 5mm thick, yet it all feels quite rigid and I think you will need to be quite brutal to warp or bend it. So all in all I am happy enough to give it 4 stars. Read full review

The sharpening plate and stand offers good value for money, but it isn't the best quality. Considering I'm not going to be using it every day it's more than good enough for me. If you want it for everyday use, suggest you buy a higher quality unit.
