Big improvement over built in mics. Consistent with Rode quality.
My first use was to capture some footage of a live rock band. Previous attempts with built in mics on dedicated camcorder with built in mics was terrible. The Rode afixed to a Canon EOS77D had no trouble handling the SPL and good sound reproduction, as well as video, was achieved.
