So many wonderfully detailed photos and a rich history of the Cripple Creek Mining District in Colorado. The World's Greatest Goldcamp.

  • THE definitive history of The Short Line

I was introduced to the Colorado Springs and Cripple Creek District Railroad through this book, and to this day I have not found a better archive of The Short Line anywhere else, be it online or in print. This book has it all: detailed and well-written first-hand history of the railroad and the places it served, dozens of vintage photos and art that I have seen nowhere else, blueprints, technical data, maps, ticket and timetable prints, and a packet of fold-out maps and reproduction brochures. All in a hard-bound book with a handsome cover and dust jacket. If you are interested in the railroad and gold-mining history of Colorado, this book is a must-have resource. Highly recommended.
