I think for some people "like new" means scuffs and clear signs of usage, even age... Lens works fine, but it also certainly doesnt look "new" as the description suggests. When I say something "looks new" that means it is indiscernible from new, that was not the case here. Lens looks to be at least a few years old with pretty fair use. Im sure it has been taken care of, but it shows its age.
