Received item as described, and shipping time as was expected. Item was, however, placed in a plastic bag for shipping instead of a box. Luckily, nothing got bent or broken.

It is not by luck. This is the preferred method of shipping this type of product. If it is in a box it goes in general delivery and the heavy items will get set on top. Plastic bags are sorted differently and they go with the softer and less heavy items. I have shipped this item many times and this is the best way. Thanks for your purchase.
