This printer is a great size and the print quality is excellent. The problem is the ink cartridge. First of all it costs a fortune and it doesnt last for more than a few pictures. Don't even try to use the maintenance....it will use up your whole cartridge and at almost $40 a pop can run you a fortune. I put in a band new OEM Epson cartride and I printed about 10 pictures. Then I noticed a marked difference in the pictures so I used the maintenance button to clean the print heads. Right after it finished cleaning the head it wouldn't print because it wants a new cartridge! That is crazy. I have 3 other printers and none of them go through ink like this one. Before I did the maintenance I checked the cartridge to see how much ink was in there. In the menu it said that I had 3/4 full and after one cleaning, it is empty!Read full review
I am a big fan of Epson printers for photographs...I have both the PictureMate Printers and the Snap Printers. I have compared them to other brands and find that if you can handle a digital camera the correct way with the correct exposures, etc. you will have beautiful photos. The photos come out dry and give you vivid colors in almost no time at all. The first models of Epson Picturemate Printers print in approx. 90 seconds, where the Snap models are quicker but both do excellent jobs. When you hold the photos sideways, some of the printers show layers as they are printed, but not so with the Epson Printers. They give you an excellent product for your money.
It's easy to set up and to use. It produces outstanding quality 4"x6" color prints. Love it.
