New, as described, and in excellent condition. All were 75 ohm, which is what I needed. They Mach what I already have. (Now I could use an empty panel to mount them.) Well packed to prevent damage, arrived sooner than expected. Excellent experience with the seller. I will buy again! Thank you!

  • Male Vocals

I recently had a recording session with a band doing covers for a demo. On most of the material I used a blue mouse on the lead male vocals. However on a version of "Jealous Again" by the Black Crowes the "mouse" was just not what we were looking for with these rocked out raspy vocals. We tried several mics including a U87,K2 some ribbon mics, GT MD1B and a sure sm58. None of these excited us and gave us the right vibe. I recently had purchased a PR 30 on eBay to try with a Royer 121 on guitar cabinets. I had read that they were also good on vocals so I decided to give it a try. Immediately we knew we had found the right mic for this song. We ran the vocal through UA 6176 with the PR 30. This mic and preamp combo captured the edge of his vocals without being harsh in the highs nor nasally ...

  • Heil PR30 is the best microphone I have in my short time collecting.

I had read and heard great information about Heil microphones in genereal. I was in the market for a solid moderately priced broadcast quality mic for use with male vocals, voice overs, guitar cabinet mic'ing, and various other applications. My research boiled it down to 2 models that fit the category and my budget: the EV RE20, the Heil PR30. I went with the Heil PR30. As soon as I received it (for $158!) I replaced the SM58 I have used for years as a live vocal mic. Just as a quick test I ran it through the band PA and it was astonishing how much more crisp and clear it performed than the 58. The pickup pattern was sharp as well. It didn't reproduce the banging china cymbal three feet to my left, just my ambitious vocals. However, when I pointed the front end firing capsule at the ride ...

  • Heil PR-30 Review-Get One

The Heil PR-30 is a large diaphragm "Dynamic" mic. I used this mic on a couple of new Guitar tracks I am presently recording. My first thought when I A-B with my other go to Mic was WOW! Has such smooth highs and great bottom end. I then tried it on Live vocals and another WOW! Im gonna get a couple more of these for recording and Live! Im a Professional FOH Engineer, and recording buff. These mics Kick Butt! Love the non-proximity effect. Stick these on guitars, vocals, and Drum Overheads and you will dig it especially for the price tag of these mics. Oh yea- no phantom power needed lol. If you considering a ribbon mic try to A-B with this mic before you buy! Michael John Mills Recording Artist,Songwriter,Engineer

  • Heil PR 30

This Microphone will hold it's own with the best Dynamics or Condensers. It has a full sound with a sparkle on the top end. Good for both vocals and instruments Live and Recording. Acoustic/electric guitars horns sound very smooth and realistic. Strings sound beautiful. I haven’t tried it on many other instruments but I think you get the picture. If you are condenser or Ribbon advocate give it a try. It may be the only mic besides a Sennheiser or Electro Voice RE20 that you have in your arsenal. Although for this price and quality I would think it would it still does not come with a bag or case (Mr. Heil I’ll gladly send my address). I have a pair of champagne which I love and would like to pick up the new black model. John Aspromonte

  • Sm57 killer?

I've been tracking some heavy/crunchy rhythm guitar tracks with the Heil PR30 paired up with a Cascade Fathead ribbon mic. These two mics compliment each other well and besides using a high and low pass filter, I don't plan on using any corrective eq on my guitar tracks. They are pretty much sitting in my mix where I want them already. Of course mic placement and good source tone are the rule of the day, but this mic is doing the job I want it to do flawlessly. Can't wait to put it on a snare drum or track some aggressive vocals with it. I've got a feeling some of my old go-to mics are going to get used a lot less.
