I was happy with this purchase to have this player added to my TV viewing in my secondary room. It has a good picture and compares to my main TV s set up with a home theater combo. It was easy to set up from on screen guide.

I bought this BD player as a replacement for an early model Sony BD player that is no longer being supported by Sony, so hook-up was nothing more than plugging in the HDMI cable and power cord. The instruction leaflet that came with the unit is very basic so I downloaded and printed out the owners manual. I found that when the remote was used to power up the BD player, it also turned on a Panasonic CD player in an adjacent cabinet. A friend who is more clever than I am told me how to solve this problem. I'm still in the learning curve in attempting to navigate around to get the machine to play the discs, and hope this becomes easier with use. I still have not figured out how to get my Sony television to respond to the power and volume controls on the remote. On the good side, the firmware update process is quite simple and reason enough to justify the purchase of the new player.Read full review

After much waiting I finally received my multi-region Blu-Ray player today. I live in the UK so I had to wait slightly longer. Was it worth all this wait? Pretty much. Everything is well packaged. A couple of user guides including how to use the multi-region part of the player are all there. The main guide is fairly simple to follow although I still found it a bit of trial and error trying to find out how to sort out contrast, resolution and sharpness. As you can imagine there are so many menus more often than not you find yourself accidently going back to the setup menu when you want the disc menu. As I'm atill getting used to the player I'm not yet sure whether the player is supposed to load the movie straight away, whether there's actually a menu screen to get through. You can allow the menu to pop up while you watch the film although I'm not sure it's really necessary. The player was successful in playing everything I gave it. Full screen 4:3 had to be adjusted as I'm not using an HD TV (yet) but it played Region 1, Region 2, Blu-ray Region B as well as an audios CDs absolutely fine. Using the player to play DVDs or Blu-ray discs from another region is easy. Perhaps if I have to find fault is that the connections don't allow much freedom to install or plug into the player existing DVD speakers for sounf quality. The main socket is also way too big. But apart from that it works great!Read full review
This is a good unit if you can buy it for a low price under $40. Though advertised as a streaming player it is not up to date on online features. It does not have an internet browser, but you can (using the WiFi only) stream NetFlix, You Tube and a few other sites that are preset in the player. It will also update your firmware automatically via WiFi. It is advertised as Smart Capable, but is not a Smart Player. As a DVD player it functions well, but its remote is somewhat simplified in its functions. I purchased this as a second Bu-Ray player for a set that I basically just desired a Blu-Ray player. If you want a full featured Smart Blu-Ray DVD player this is not the unit to buy.

If you're looking for a BASIC blu ray player(without all of the bells and whistles), then this is the one for you! It has a very nice picture and there is no "set up" required. The speed varies, which means that you may lag a step or two behind when watching a fast-paced movie. Also, the unit itself only has the "basic" functions, so you cannot fast forward or rewind from the unit. As my blu ray player did not come with a remote, this is rather inconvenient (especially if you don't want to watch previews from other movies or if you want to see a certain scene again). Other than that, the blu ray player does exactly what it's supposed to do. Again, this is a BASIC unit. As such, there is no wifi and the unit is not 3D capable or 3D ready. If you are looking for a basic blu ray player without all of the frills, then I would definitely suggest considering the DMP-BD60 as an option (especially if you can find it on a good sale).Read full review
Simply put a very good Blu-Ray player. Loading time is about middle of the pack but nowhere near as dog slow as older players can be. DVD upscaling is superior to many of the newer and more expensive players so if you have a large DVD collection this is something to consider. The unit is stylish and the remote well laid out and easy to use. HD audio can be bitstreamed or decoded for use with the both newer and older AV receivers. HDMI handshaking is strong and consistent. There is an ethernet port for online content but on the negative side this model will not stream Netflix online content. This is a very nice player and a solid value and I recommend with few reservations.
Back in September my 11 month old Samsung DVD-1080P7 (I only used it for 3 months) up and died. I needed a new player, I decided this time I will get the "best bang for my buck". I researched for days and came up with the Panasonic DMP BD60K Blu-Ray Player, Geek rating 9.7 out of 10. so many cool features I can't wright them all down, so here are my favorites, in addition to Blue Ray (my first one)it upscales all my old DVD's perfectly and automatically selects my TV's highest DEF. As you can expect the BLUE RAY is perfect, I love BD LIVE! I connected a LAN line from my router to the player and now my viewing experience is so much better, it makes your Blue Ray disks with BD content worth more then you paid for it, by expanding content as big as the net. Then there is Viera Cast I don't even have to put a disk in to get WEB content. It has a Flash card reader, you can view pictures from your digital cameras or whatever I haven't used it for that, However you will need to use this slot for BD content (Panasonic recommends at least 1GB). It also has a USB port, so you can connect various thumb drive and such. All in all "THE BEST BANG FOR YOUR BUCK" . For under 200 bucks you can hardly beat it.Read full review
The product Panasonic, I have used for year, dependable, that´s why I purchase this and it works good for the price. The pictures great but design no, I like it. It does what I needed it for, connect wifi and play video on youtube.

Long since my purchase, I love this little player for its basic utility and user friendliness. It's so versatile and portable -- plug and play. I use it with my TV and laptop. Reliable, and no problems with cumbersome, unnecessary setup requirements.

On most commands it takes several second for the player to react. One doesn't know if it received the command or if one should try again. I had to learn to be very patient with it. Otherwise it is great.
