This product has two bad problems. 1.Film overlays were taken,And I spent another $73 for repairs. It has been fixed. 2.This camera didn't know what the reason was and was found to have been dismantled before. The good news is that the product looks very new.

I used to own F3hp, All I have to say is that I love this camera very much. Couple outstanding features to point out: 100% viewfinder coverage, what you see in viewfinder is what you will get on the film. High Eye Point viewfinder gives us glasses wearers a huge relief. Interchangeable prism - I use both 90 degree prism and waist lever finder for different occasions and needs. Soilid construction thoughtout, no cheap plastics. Outstanding center metering - I find to be most accurate(useful) among Nikon manual focus cameras. Battery life is great - those lithum battery would last you months. Blub and T shutter release is very helpful in night photography and long time exposure. TTL Flash metering Of course, no camera is perfect, here are some little things that I do not like about F3hp: Flash sync speed performance is not so good No standard Hot Shoe, have to use old outdated dedicated flash designed for F3hp, very cumbersom to mount and dismount too. Camera requires battery to operate, if battery dies, camera dies. Wish it was built like FM3a that incroporates both mechanical and electronic shutter. Overall, a great manual focus film camera for both professional use and amature use. Great camera for photo student as well.Read full review
The F3 series is reliable and readily available as well as reasonably priced. The pros film camera of choice for forty years. The F3/T just steps up the ruggedness of this nice film camera. Nikon made more accessories for this series than any other camera. Definitely purchase the MD4 as well so that the whole system runs off AA Batteries instead of the button cells that the camera needs when the MD4 is not attached. As a Pro I STILL use the F3/T when choosing film as my medium. F3s were manufactured for over 21 years so there are alot of them out there.

I like the Retro.Cat's as an excellent review, which can help to the photographer interested in. However, there is one misperception: "When the battery dies, the camera dies". It is not true. The FM3HP has a mechanical shutter of fixed to 1/60second. It is located at the lower right next to lens, below the aperature check lever. Yoou can testy it. If you remove the batteries from the F3HP and if cock the lever to the lower side, then press shutter release, it will work. Of course, we have to know the aperture without the camera's help. It is useful when battery is gone or an extreme coldness lower the battery's electro-chemical capability. I would like to add up F3HP's features. If we add up the MD-4 Motor Drive, then it not only advance the film fast without moving the camera by hand, it will supply the electricity for the camera and also flasher, and it's extra weight and momentum will enhance stability from shaking images. If you add up fire control system to the motor drive, you will have extra shutter release and speed control from semi-automatic to auto shutter release, and you can attach to it an electric shutter release cable, which will allow you from stay away from the camera while taking photos. HP, which stands for High Eye view prism, has a lighting bulb, so when it is dark, you can see the control data. Also it has eye sight glass shutter, so that it will block any light leak back into film from eye sight, in addition to a number of view prisms and focal glasses. In short, Nikon F3HP is a legendary 35mm SLR machanical camera, with its ruggedness, reliability, accuracy, and functional capabilities, which should be a landmark of 35mm camera history.Read full review

Bought this for my daughter. She is a photo student and is required to learn film with digital. All three of her teachers told her the F3 is one of the best film cameras ever made. The F3 was first sold in the 80's and is still known as one of the best. She has three digital cameras that cost over 3000.00 each and are out dated in about two years. The F3 keeps hangin in there....

Bought an F3 when it first came out. Sold it and wished I didn't. Decided to get another one - so why not a "T" version. The Titan is built TOUGH! Don't like the flash mount, but I won't be using flash anymore.
