Not really surprising, given its age. A few bounces on a truck or airplane must have rattled the filament. Since I had another unit, I swapped the bulbs, which caused mine to stop working, and the seller's to function properly. The seller responded quickly to my message, and since replacement bulbs are very hard to come by, issued a refund right away.
