"Patterson and Lupica manage to get deep into the world of high-level show jumping and also, incredibly for two men, deep into the lives of three generations of strong women. I don't know what's more compelling--the white-knuckle descriptions of the horse shows in the lead-up to the Olympics or the tense, complex relationships among the three women. We grow to care deeply about these horsewomen. This is a hugely entertaining, riveting, page-turner of a book. A thrilling and thoughtful read." -- Louise Penny, #1 bestselling author of The Madness of Crowds, "Patterson and Lupica manage to get deep into the world of high-level show jumping and also, incredibly for two men, deep into the lives of three generations of strong women. Synopsis
Emotions rule us all--and turn two women's lives into a ride they can barely control--in this "hugely entertaining, riveting page-turner" (Louise Penny) following the complicated relationship between mother and daughter as they face off in the Olympics. Maggie Atwood and Becky McCabe, mother and daughter, both champion riders, vowed to never, ever, go up against one another. Until the tense, harrowing competitions leading to the Paris Olympics. Mother and daughter share a dream: to be the best horsewoman in the world. Coronado is Maggie's horse. An absolutely top-tier Belgian warmblood. Sky is Becky's horse. A small, speedy Dutch warmblood. Only James Patterson could bring you such breakneck speed, hair-raising thrills and spills. Only hall of fame sportswriter Mike Lupica could make it all so real., This "hugely entertaining, riveting page-turner" (Louise Penny) follows the complicated relationship between mother and daughter as they face off in the Olympics--and into a ride they can barely control. - r***c (1649)- Feedback left by buyer.Past 6 monthsVerified purchaseUnfortunately for both of us the item was lost in transit. But seller provided excellent service and was very responsive. Issued a full refund right away when I brought the issue to his attention. The USPS is at fault here as they failed to track the item once in their possession. NOT THE SELLER'S FAULT. Seller was A+ throughout the transaction and had great prices. I highly recommend. The Dahlgren Affair: Terror and Conspiracy in the Civil War (#326483517868)
- a***1 (905)- Feedback left by buyer.Past 6 monthsVerified purchaseFast shipping, item as described, however the packaging was not suitable for mailing a CD. It was luck that the CD was not damaged in transit. There was nothing to protect the CD from being crushed or bent in the mail, all it had was a thin plastic bag. I was considering giving the seller a neutral rating for the way he packed the item, but decided not to, because I didn't wanted to lower the seller's rating , and other than the packaging I have no other complaints with this order.Maria Tanase Greatest Hits (#326483481439)
- n***e (1520)- Feedback left by buyer.Past monthVerified purchaseSeller shipped, but USPS didn't scan item on pickup, so we never received the item, but the seller immediately issued a full refund and apologized for something out of their control. Would buy again due to prompt communication and honesty. Obviously we didn't rate the item.
