Standouts are plentiful, with Lorde herself contributing both the propulsive centerpiece "Yellow Flicker Beat" and a cover of Bright Eyes' "Ladder Song.". ~ Fred Thomas.

NotesOriginal soundtrack to the 2014 motion picture exclusively curated by Lorde and featuring her single 'Yellow Flicker Beat'. THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY - PART 1 is a film directed by Francis Lawrence with a screenplay by Peter Craig and Danny Strong. It is the first of two cinematic parts based on the novel MOCKINGJAY, the final book in THE HUNGER GAMES trilogy, written by Suzanne Collins, and the third installment in THE HUNGER GAMES film series, produced by Nina Jacobson and Jon Kilik and distributed by Lionsgate. It is the sequel to THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE and continues to follow Katniss Everdeen who, after escaping the Third Quarter Quell, becomes a reluctant hero and symbol of hope for the nation of Panem.
Since the cover of this cd has "Original Motion Picture Soundtrack" on it, I thought this would be the music from the movie. I was very disappointed to find out that there was only one song (in two versions) from the movie! I didn't recognize any of the other songs, and I didn't like them, either. To add insult to injury, the case was broken, too.
