Amazing car!
Recommended upgrades - The front dogbones limit the steering ratio, so I upgraded to universals. - The screws from the bottom get dirt and rust so I upgraded to titanium. Three sets of 10 screws are very cheap. - The servo arm is bad if the steering gets stuck with rocks, so I upgraded to high torque steering arm from Tamiya. The problems I've faced: - The servo arm lets tie rods loose. - The rear pinion uses a steel stick with proper size. There are spares within the kit that are bigger, for other parts of the car. With that mistake, I had rear spinning wheels that had no torque, so the car got buried easily. To know if you built your car properly, you can rotate rear wheels manually with the electronics off, and the front tires should rotate at same rate. - The belt is sealed properly, but you need to disassemble to check if everything is fine. the building instructions can be a little confusing at times but over all there pretty good. and also depending on what electronics your planing on tuning with you might have to make some modifications. one suggestion would be defiantly buy the electronics after you get a look at where the suppose to fit on the chassis other than that i thinks its a really good chassis.

Excellent kit, fun car!!
Tamiya XV01 chassis is a great kit for rally, and can have many different car bodies. There are also lots of upgrade parts available. This one came with the Subaru WRX STi body. I also ordered the Mitsubishi EVO X body which are both unpainted. This works well for me because I like to come up with my own paint schemes. The extra paint, tools, and radio can be found at your local hobby shop or here on EBAY. Assembly of this car is similar to putting a model car together so it does take patience and time. Once it is done, there is the pride of accomplishment when you can install your battery and drive it. If you want a RC car or truck to drive right away get a 'Ready to Run' RC. But for coolness factor this one can be as authentic as the real ones racing on remote roads through timed events with a little imagination.Read full review
