It is well made and the adjustable settings come in handy when engraving different materials and wanting a different depth. It is pretty loud so make sure you are using ear protection if you are in a small space

I would like to see point options for finer work. The point supplied did not work well with the stencils because of the steep angle of the pitch. The resultant work was crude and unusable. Using a free hand approach which required practice worked better. I'll be using it to ID various shop tools and some jewelry.

I love Wen for the quality you get for the price. I have always had Dermal engravers, this work just as good and quality is the same in my opinion. Its a little loud but so is the Dermal. Buy one and you will not be disappointed.

None of these are for art. For its intended purpose, it works quite well, though its a bit uncontrollable, and not precise, even at its lowest settings. Best one out there for its intended purpose.

The norm in life is that most things have their price increase. increase: electronic and electrical items not so much (reasons are pretty clear to most people). What is different about many recent items I have acquired is that the quality has increased without a significant (or no) price increase. I needed to replace my old engraving tool so I purchased this one: it is a bit lighter, quieter and more responsive than my old one. As for me? I would say it was an upgrade costing less than my old one that was decades old.
