Outperforms 21 LED lights I own, Definitely getting a few more while they last. This unit is the perfect size for a man's hand. The light beam is bright and crisp with a light circle about 9 feet in diameter at 25 ft. This light has a lens in front of each of the four LED's. The other end of the unit actually is a caribiner so it will clip on to any loop on your clothing, no extra lanyards or other fasteners needed. Time will tell how good the switch is but it feels like it is at least of average quality if not something better. Waterproof? I'm not going to submerge this but I can tell you that the lamp shroud does seem to seal tightly to the case. Is the switch actually sealed is the question. The case is one piece so that won't leak. Should perform in rainy weather but I'm not going to go diving with it. I like it. Definitely getting another one or two at this price.Read full review

The Good: A good general use flashlight for use in close to you applications for back up lighting or emergencies or outdoors in the rain. The Batteries last a long time! Great for putting in your car under the seat, or hang in your bathroom or store in you junk drawer for when you need it. One handed operation to turn on and off. Feels good in the hand to hold with a nice rubberized grip. If you drop it, it can take it with a nice rubber bumper on the front.. It won't damage your floor like a aluminum tactical light would with its sharp ends.Great for children as dropping it does little harm to itself or objects it lands on. Not a dive light! Sure you can drop it in the water but don't take it swimming with you. The seals will not stand the water pressure and will let water in if it goes much deeper that just floating on the surface! Good for camping and fishing but honestly I have not used it for either as I prefer using a head lamp so I have both hands free. Being yellow and back it makes a great emergency light that is easy to spot in dim light. Can be operated by feel in total darkness to easily find the switch. What is not so good. Time of ownership: About 7 years. So far the clip has not broken. However the rubber has hardened making the on/off switch difficult to use and the o-ring has broken and is long gone making it less resistant to dunking in water. I also had the glue the rubber cap to the lens as it had come loose. It is not pocket-sized. LED technology has improved since these flashlights were first produced. So, for the same price point you can get a smaller more powerful light that is more convenient for regular use. Hack it! The four LED s can be easily de-soldered and replaced with other standard sized LED s with through hole leads. So if you are into modifying things it is very possible to change the the LED s to different colors. However different color LED s have different voltage and current requirements. What makes this flashlight so hack-able it has easy access to the circuit board and there are four surface mounted resistors pads to add the appropriate resistors for each of your 4 new LED s. The resistor pads are shorted with traces because the white LED s don't need them. Just cut the traces between the pads and solder on the resistors. Make it a RED or UV or any other other color flashlight you want! So cool! In Summery. When I bought this flashlight 7 years ago it was definitely a five star flashlight for the price! Would I buy it again? It is not my main flashlight now because I need a more powerful zooming light for use of less that 15 min per night to light up my dogs as they run around in my very big backyard at night a couple of hundred feet away. This Dorcy flashlight does not meet my regular needs anymore for nightly use so it sits in the bathroom as an emergency light for power outages. I would recommend this light for: Needing a very long lasting light that doesn't eat up batteries like the brighter modern ones do. For illuminating near you to maybe 30 feet away. (Less that 100 Lumins) Simple old fashioned on off with no blinking modes. Can be dropped and not do much damage A easy grab and use light for outdoors in the rain Can be easily connected to a loop or connected to a bed rail by a chord for someone bed ridden or disabled so if they drop it it can be pulled back by the chord. It clips onto your clothes for hands free night walks. A child's flashlight that will last drops and tantrums. Can use 3 regular or rechargeable AA batteriesRead full review

It feels right in my hand. I droped it once and it still works. Stores upright and the bright yellow color stands out for easy to locate after a long stowage. Uses 3 dubble AA batteries which are easy to find in all stores.

I've had one of these for 3 years. The quality is excellent. Bright doesn't adequately describe it. Battery life is very good. The switch is good. When you turn it on, it is on and never flickers. Very reliable. Like it so much, I bought a second one.

This is a great little flashlight that is incredibly bright. It uses a few AA batteries, I use rechargeables. It has a clip for attaching it to things, would work good for putting it on a backpack while camping or hiking. That hasn't been something I have used. I might put a strap on it so it can hang from something. Shockproof: I've dropped it a few times with no damage. It is a great light that is extremely bright. Since it has LEDs, Battery life should be long lived and no bulbs to replace. I was given one, I liked it so much I bought one. I am sure I'll buy another to give to my mom.
