Good piece of kit
I was a little hesitant when ordering, as there were limited reviews outside of YouTube Having now received and used i couldn't be happier with the quality of this, and my VW trike twin carbs are now has the tick-over set correctly. A lot easier and cost effective alternative to other alternative kit A couple of points worth noting 1. One of the gauges wasn't zero'd, but by removing the front cover and adjust a flat blade screw 2. Within the kit was two inline plastic taps, these need to be fitted into the rubber pipe line, as they dampen the vacuum, without them being fitted there is too much swing on the gauges. Great gauges at a reasonable price
Having never balanced carbs before I wasn't sure how easy (or hard) it would be. These gauges were straight forward to assemble (once I had read the instructions provided). Before I could use them I had to overcome two issues: firstly the threads on the tubes were too small for the threads on my manifolds - As I've a pillar drill, a metric tap and die and had some metal bar available, I was able to make some adapters. And, secondly the gauges when dampened with the plastic tee-piece dampers provided did not read anywhere near the same no matter how much I tweaked the carbs. After much faffing the problem was solved with PTF tape around the threads of the plastic damper screws - although no visible defects, one was leaking.
