Lots of fun, incredable tonal effects, ability to create youre own effects or use the available ones, still playing with all the available choices gsp 2101 artist 3.0.00 version.fractal has an excellent unit, but for an old timer like me this is so much fun, and the effects loop is very handy and midi is available .Great with 4+12 cabs and a 1000 watt amp, you do not want to go to work you will want jam all day, and you can upgrade this unit to if you want, this will keep you smiling. you will definitly want a foot controller and use only the recommended ones like the control one or gsp 2101fc or a c.c. compatable unit not a midi foot controler because it is not set up for c.c. commands with this particular unit and wiring cable is slightly different than standard midi cable format, Cool unit and lots of fun for 4-ben franklins, enjoy moe.music.ldrck.Read full review
Back in 96;I had the gsp 21 into a JCM 800,LOVED IT & THEN IT DIED.then i got the gsp 21 legend & it died (like a dummy never changed the battery & they were used) So i move on to try other equipment.at this time I have been running a gt6 into a jmp 1 which goes into a Marshall el 34 power amp channel A. Even though I got good clesn & overdriven channels, was never happy with my leads sound though & i kept thinking about the gsp.So i read more about them & the more I found out about the gsp 2101;the more i was amazed with the past & the future.what really impressed me was the ability to upgrade (reads 02.02.01a) which i found out was the limited edition) I just sent away for the Artist upgade & will recieve it soon; well right now the 2101 is going into channel B of the power amp & i am happy with it doing the leads cause it does sing with the notes;I have not had it long enough to tell you thourghly yet & when I do upgrade it maybe I will go back to just using the 2101 or use my jmp 1 for clean & the 2101 for overdriven and leads,or possibly combine the 2.we will see as time goes on. LIKE I SAID IN THE BEGINNIHG I WAS TOTALLY HAPPY WITH THE DIGITECH GSP 21 & SO FAR I LIKE WHAT I GOT OF THE 2101Read full review
I owned one when it first came out, loved it but was too young and dumb to understand it very well. Sold it about 20 years ago. Got the itch to build my childhood dream guitar rig. Decided to try the 2101 fully upgraded. I now own a standard 2101 with the final version upgrade and a dual S-disc purple haze unit with the final upgrade. Most people have no idea how powerful and versatile this unit is. By itself, with a good cabinet and a good guitar it's a nice flexible decent sounding unit. The real trick, too really hear what this thing can do, is to couple it with an amp modeler. And for the love of rack units, please put good tubes in it. You aren't hearing even 25% of what this this is capable of by leaving bad tubes in it. My recommendation is use 2 TAD(tube amp doctor) 12AX7s in this unit, or 1x 5751 and 1x 12AX7. This alone makes it sound like a current and modern rig. Then run your stereo outs into the stereo line-in of your modeler, I use an 11 Rack. Be sure and go through the signal chain of your modeler and set input and output levels appropriately. Run all this into a really good cabinet or some good budget studio monitors and your done.Read full review

My recorded guitar tone IS the GSP-2101, and has been for nearly 25 years now. I have 6 of them, and a purpose for each, two in each studio, and two in my live rig. The key is knowing how to program a tone. It's nearly as complicated as a Fractal AxeFX, but 20 years before it's time, and even though I own a Fractal, I have yet to get a tone out of it that's anywhere near as good as the 2101. Short of tone matching the 2101, I don't think there is any other way to reproduce my tone. Don't buy any of them, sell me yours if it's in great shape and not your cup of tea!
