LOVE my Monarch Laser 800. Nikon-quality optics, and great accuracy so far. Tough, light, small enough to slide into the pocket of my hunting coat. Have 15 days of elk hunting on it already (1 down, 1 to go) and it has handled all kinds of weather. One limitation, though: like all rangefinders it seeems, it is only really accurate out to about 80% of its rated distance, or in this case about 650yds. That is more than enough for almost any elk/deer/antelope hunter, but worth noting the dropoff in consistent accuracy at long distances. Seems like only the Leica rangefinders are truly useful to their fully rated distances. For the price, though, you can't beat the Nikon. Very happy with mine.
I use the Nikon Monarch 800 for golf. It is very easy to use and can pick up flags up to 250 yards away. Beyond that range is a bit tough, however put the crosshairs on larger targets around the green and it can give you distances 500+ yards with +/-1 yard accuracy. The unit and case are both well made with durable construction. I know this unit is better priced than comparable units from the well known reputable competitors, so that makes this unit a great deal. I am exremely pleased with my purchase.
now this is a great range finder. it has a strong laser. is a quite costly for someone who has a fixed income but if a person can afford it, it is a good one. wish people would be more specific on how good the laser is on the different units so a person would not have to waste money finding out the hard way on if it would be worth to buy certain ones or not. this will make my third one. and now am able to have comfort with this one, to where last year the unit i bought previously cost me my opportunity at getting a nice 5 point bull elk.
i have used this rangefinder for 10 years.it is one of the few range finders used for hunting that i would use.many fellow hunters have bought cheaper units just to find out they were junk.if you are wanting a rangfinder that works, dont buy one that is cheaper than this one. you wont be happy.
Purchased this one for my brother inlaw. I all have had one for sometime thay work Great. A must for long range. Very easy to handle and work.
