Despite being comparatively ancient, this iPod does everything I need and is pretty cheap. It even has some stuff more modern iPods don't have, like FM radio (not on iPod touch or shuffle) and a video camera (not on the iPod Nano or Shuffle). Although it is nearly pointless to buy with you already have a smartphone, this iPod is a lifesaver for peasants.

The iPod Nano is physically in very good shape; however, the device's battery does not last more than 5 hrs of continued music play. The description stated that the battery lasted 12 hrs. Since Battery Issues are one of the main problems for the iPods, we believe that this one should have been offered at a lower price, specially so when it does not comply with the Description.

This iPod Nano is probably the best nano of the six that have been made. I choose the 5th generation nano over the 6th generation because I felt like the 5th G had more features than the 6th G. ***Battery Life: The battery life is good, but not excellent. I feel like I'm charging the iPod every other day (and I only use it for music playing mostly for about 2 hours a day). ***Features: This is the only iPod Nano with a VIDEO camera on it. Yes, VIDEO. You cannot do anything with the camera except for taking video, NO pictures. Which is kind of a bummer, but I didn't buy the 5th G just for the video camera. It also has a radio (But can only be listened to with headphones because they act as the antenna). To me, almost every radio station besides a few are all fuzzy (but I guess that's just where you are located compared with the radio towers). ***Design: The iPod feels nice to hold because of the oval design around it. The click wheel is decently responsive (I say 3.5/5). ***Overall Value: This iPod is a great value if you can get it cheap (I'd say you shouldn't spend more than $85 maximum on the 8gb version). ***ONE LAST DETAIL: -If you are looking for a video camera, why spend $100-$250 on one? The iPod 5th G has a great quality video camera, and in my opinion is way better than the Flip. The iPod is super light weight and about the same size as an iPhone (except for its thinner).Read full review
This is the second ipod I've owned and really would recommend this to anyone. The only reason I am not giving this a higher rating is apple has a tendency to flaw some of their greatest products. This particular model comes with a pretty decent video camera which is a very fun feature and can take videos with a variety of photography styles (sepia, black and white, cyborg, ect...) I will say the video camera is a great addition to this product however being as the mp3 player actually plays music, video, and has a gallery for photos they really should have allowed this video camera to also take still shots as well. I feel this is something that apple could have (and should have) easily added to it's functionality. So if you want to actually have photos you must take them with another device and load them to it or take a video and edit out a still shot on a computer. Considering the time and effort they put forth to include the video camera the simple software upgrade it would take to allow for still shots should have been added. As far as I've found no such upgrade to the software is available. Other than that they really do seem to be made of decent quality materials. The menu's are pretty easy to navigate once you get used to the click wheel design. Also with most ipod products there is also a large selection of accessories available both online and in local stores. Again, despite the camera flaw I really would recommend this to anyone who would like to have a small mp3/mp4 device that has decent fun extras.Read full review
I went looking for this specific iPod for a music only, beach (abuse) ipod to carry around with me and the family. I looked for this specific one because of the features this one in particular had. I have a classic, and iPhone and a new Nano (5G). I was torn between this one and the FAT nano, the 3rd Generation I think, and finally chose this one because of the video camera. When I got it, I was extremely impressed by the quality of the videos from the camera. This iPod is exactly what I wanted. A $100 iPod, small enough to not break (kids), feature complete enough to keep us entertained (kids), and with a camera, just in case we needed one at the last minute (kids-LOL). Best iPod ever.
