I own several of these reels and use them almost every day. They have a smooth action, accessable rear drag and the quick fire mechanism makes them a joy to use. With near daily usage, they last me about 5 years. They have held up well landing bass up to 9 lbs and, with a retail price of about $15, they are my favorite reel.

Love those old Shimano reels. The quick fire lever and top center return are great. Shimano was the first I know of to offer it, now it's pretty common. The rear drag is great, and not so common. Try it once and you'll love it. The "Fightin' Drag" is nice too if you can get it. Okuma is also a good reel, but nothing beats the old style Shimano. They're pretty reasonable in price, so you may want to try one. You'll be glad you did.

I purchased this Shimano lx2000R Spinning reel and it worked flawlessly right out of the box. I have fished for more than 30 years and this reel works as good as others that cost many times more. I have had this reel for approximately a month and have caught more than 60 fish with no negative issues at all. I would highly recommend this reel to any one for medium duty use.

Very nice size not too small not to large. Used mine with 8 lb. line cast easy, retrieved nicely. Trick worm and largemouth bass makes for a good fun day of fishing.

Inexpensive reel but not cheap quality. I've used this same type for 35+ years and they are still going, and for this price, I could not pass buying extra's. YEA. you can spend 100's more on reels, but I can honestly state, I don't think the fish care !!
