Ah - Windows 10........I'm not sure why the OS is such a difficult pill to swallow!....... Joe Average's reasons for disliking the OS are solely based on a lack of desire for change. If it was left to him we'd all still be running Windows XP which, don't get me wrong, was a great OS..........in it's day! To hardcore PC enthusiasts like myself, we rejoiced when MS finally decided to revamp the GUI and take advantage of the powerful PC's we had at the time when they released Windows Vista. Sadly though, for Joe Average his 'basic' PC was nowhere near powerful enough to run such an advanced OS. 2 years on, say hello to Windows 7. By 2009 the basic RAM spec of a cheap PC was about 2GB, which was more than enough for this graphically detuned version of windows. BUT when they cut the 'fat' from Windows Vista to make 7, they made an OS that was all things to all geeks, and Joe's alike. An OS which still looked pretty, with it's aero glass interface, but was toned down just enough to run nicely on Mr Average's PC - Great Job Microsoft. Along came Windows 8 (and 8.1) which even I thought was a disaster. The GUI looked far too simple, I hated the solid coloured tiles. The interface looked like it had been designed by a child. BUT I could see Microsoft's marketing strategy...... They had decided to start manufacturing their own hardware, which was going to have a specific build and therefore the GUI had to be detuned to suit. And they had also developed Windows RT for the ARM CPU, which maybe are great in your smartphone, but if you want fancy graphics, stick to an x86 CPU with a discreet graphics card. Windows 10 is a reasonable attempt at merging the best parts of windows 8.1 with windows 7. The graphics are still reasonably simple but nice enough not to be offputting to a geek such as myself. But windows 10 brings other features to the table such as better security as standard, the latest build has anti-ransomware features built in. I also like it's magical ability to be able to reinstall itself on demand to the last build without having to make up recovery partitions. How it works is magical (and I wrote my own OS recovery software for Windows Vista/7). I would say the main downsides are with this OS is that, if you leave the privacy settings unaltered, you will find Microsoft been able to spy on your every move while logged on to the PC. I also still don't like Microsoft edge. There are still some websites which do not work at all with this browser. But all in all, it's a pretty fine OS, for a Windows OS. I think we would all love the safety and security of Linux or a Mac OS but, until they make their OS's more compatible with the Windows eco-system (which won't happen) we are stuck in this symbiotic relationship. That's my 10p anyway!Read full review

1. It did not start when put into the DVD drive so where would I have been had there been no operating system already installed? I had to Open the disc and use setup exe manually. 2. The installation key was not needed and I have not been asked to register the system with Microsoft. 3. The latter gives me cause for concern that the system may/may not mal function in the future 4. Because I did not have to use the installation key, perhaps I could actually use this disc on another computer but just buy an extra key??

Easy to install - just follow the instructions. Be prepared to be asked several similar questions about sharing with other devices and sharing online as part of the installation process. Windows 10 isn't that much different to Windows 7 once you get used to it. The lack of a Windows Update item on the start menu is the one thing I do find annoying. Also, if you're looking for something to use in the office, you'll need to invest in a copy of MS Office. Other than that it's all good.

It took me a long time to get it to setup on my computer, cause it is an older one most likely. But every time it restarted there was a blank screen and nothing happening, which ment it had to be restarted a lot more times then any windows that I have ever put on before, eventually it went through to windows pro 10. But still had problems cause it kept saying there was a problem with my drives and wanting to fix and scan them, which some of them it wanted to take hours doing !!!

You got the complete win10 and key in your hand so what ever the computer sad chose another way to install if your windows crashed like mine. will work! I like the wide range of win 10 versions possibility. all there you have to just plug in F2 BIOS but to the 1st place boot from usb drive and let it run! I was downloaded the win 10 from microcoft but was not activated as i had no key for win 10 and day by day went worst and worst untill completely stopped my computer . with this usb stick I did saved all my data's back and my computer alive again!
