About this product

Product Information

Languedoc-Roussillon covers a large region of southern France, from the Rhone to the Pyrenees. For many years its wines had a poor reputation and the over-production filled the European wine lake. Now, with attention to yields and new wine-making techniques, Languedoc-Roussillon is producing first rate wines from the traditional grapes of the region as well as from France's classic grapes - Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Sauvignon blanc. Liz Berry looks at these developments - the creation of new applications, the advance of new technology, and new investments as the New World wine wizards move into Europe. Languedoc-Roussillon is perhaps the most exciting and forward-looking wine region in Europe today, and its wines offer remarkable value for money.

The book arrived very quickly and was efficiently packaged. It was exceptionally good value. Despite the fact that the book was second hand it was in very good condition. The book was published in 1992 and is dated in parts but the sections on the geology, terroir and the vineyards are still relevant today.
